Spectrum: Faces of Multiracial Identity

Two-channel video, 2016

This is a two-channel film I created in order to explore the societal misconceptions associated with people who identify with more than one race. Being that I myself am multiracial, I wanted to explore the importance of self-identity in a society that insists on labeling people by their appearances, and wherein racial issues and intolerance are far from over.

Recipient of a 2016 Wake Forest University Student Art Purchase Award.

While screening this two-channel film on Wake Forest University’s campus for 12 hours on a consistent loop, I decided to document some viewers’ reactions.
